Context Window
A context window is the amount of text or data an AI model can consider at one time when generating a response.
How it works
It works like the model's short-term memory, limiting how much of a conversation or document it can 'see' at once. This matters because a larger window allows the AI to handle longer, more complex tasks, while a smaller window can force it to forget earlier parts of an interaction.
Examples
- 1.Summarizing a long research paper requires a large context window to process all the text.
- 2.Having a long conversation with a chatbot where it remembers everything you've discussed for the last hour.
