Best Alternatives to Tellus in 2025
Tellus is a unique AI-powered platform that turns spoken memories into memoirs and illustrated storybooks, but if you're exploring other options for preserving family stories or creating keepsakes, here are five strong alternatives to consider.
Storyworth
Storyworth is a direct competitor that sends weekly email prompts to help family members share stories, which are then compiled into a printed book. It's great for structured storytelling without AI voice recording, but requires writing input.
Audible
Audible offers a vast library of audiobooks, including narrated memoirs and family stories. While not a creation tool, it's ideal for listening to preserved memories if you prefer audio over printed books.
Jasper AI
Jasper AI is a powerful AI writing assistant that can help craft memoirs or stories from notes or transcripts. It's more flexible for custom projects but lacks Tellus's voice-to-book automation.
Ancestry.com
Ancestry.com focuses on genealogical research and family history records, with tools to build family trees and share stories. It's better for historical discovery than creating illustrated storybooks.
MyHeritage
MyHeritage offers similar genealogy features with AI photo enhancement and story creation tools. It's a good alternative for combining family history with multimedia preservation.
While Tellus excels at turning voice recordings into polished memoirs and children's books with no writing effort, alternatives like Storyworth offer structured prompts for written stories, Audible provides audio preservation, Jasper AI gives creative writing flexibility, and Ancestry.com or MyHeritage focus on genealogical context. Choose based on whether you prioritize voice input, writing assistance, or family history research.
